About Leiba L.

I became a mother for the third time at the ripe young age of forty-one and so my children range from ages six to twenty-two. I know right, it makes for quite a roller coaster ride most days, especially when I could barely keep up with the relentless energy of the six year old and stop mid-sentence whilst talking to the other two because I forgot what I was about to say. And of course throw into the mix my perimenopausal hormonal self and we get a life that can be topsy-turvy at times and that’s on a good day. It’s for this reason the MummyPause blog was born, out of a desire to openly discuss menopause and all the unique hormonal changes women experience whilst doing life. Menopause is similar to having a baby, you can read all the books you want, talk to all your friends and relatives about it but in the end your experience will be a unique one. As a Caribbean woman, by sharing my stories, I want to encourage other women to do the same and reassure them that they’re not alone. So buckle up girls, let’s take this ride together. Leiba L.
